RoadRunner History

team was one of the first to affiliate with the AAU.
Currently the Roadrunners is the oldest running
club in the United States still in existence. It
started as a club for elementary girls, at
a time when track was only offered as a High
School Sport for man. Boys joined the program in
1862. As the teams reputation spread, it's
membership came to include athletes and
coaches from Riverside, Orange, and Los
Angeles counties. The team officially became the
Southern California
Roadrunners in 1978. Since the 1980 the
Roadrunners have won over 30 national team
championships in cross country and several team
championships in Track and Field.
